Your challenge

As an Embedded Software Engineer at AKKA Technologies you use your knowledge to realize innovative projects. You know how to develop software in a structured way, work together in a (multidisciplinary) team and can communicate clearly about project progress and possible project obstacles. With your background you have learned to extract the correct information from datasheets and to write high-quality software based on that.

An interesting aspect of this position is that as an Engineer you get the opportunity to learn from your senior colleagues and participate in varied projects within the high-tech sector. This way you keep developing, challenging yourself and you gain a lot of experience.

In addition to software development, you are also asked to be active as a consultant: to help improve the quality of both the product and the development processes. This can be done by actively involving yourself in the design and architecture of the applications, but also by shaping and improving the agile scrum process. The guarantee you get: no two days are the same.

Who are you?

There is a good balance between the knowledge you bring with you and the knowledge you will get from AKKA. You already have experience with various programming languages in the field of embedded software. With this basis you take on the challenge to deepen your knowledge of these languages and also expand this knowledge with other programming languages. This way you learn to think from different angles and you can assess and advise in which programming language the right software for the project can be written.

In addition to programming, you are interested in the aspects surrounding it. You can think of, for example, automation testing and the use of tooling. Performance issues on embedded hardware (platforms) keep you challenged and you know how to deal with the limitations of a hardware platform.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in below profile:

• A completed technical education at Bachelor or Master level
• Several years of relevant work experience with C and C ++
• At least 3 years of experience with embedded systems, for example Raspberry Pi
• Basic knowledge of (embedded) Linux
• Good command of the English language, both spoken and written
